Voting in the time of COVID-19

The Covid-19 crisis threatens our elections and challenges us to safeguard voters, poll workers, and the elections themselves. The LWVMC has created a complete lesson package for the remote classroom on registering and voting from home. It includes a Teachers’ Package (Slides and Notes) and a Student Voting Advocate Toolkit (Slides and a separate Guide) for students to apply what they learn immediately to help others in their household overcome hesitation about voting by mail. The materials reflect the changes to the NJ Primary defined in the Governor’s May 16, 2020 Executive Order.

Fighting For the Vote

The Monmouth County Leagues have created a program designed to motivate high school seniors and college students to vote. Fighting for the Voteis a one-session, interactive lesson delivered in the classroom by League-trained facilitators. Program developers Pat Supplee and Peggy Dellinger conducted a workshop recently, teaching those wishing to deliver the program. You can see it here:
